How to send a 500 MB file
- Drop the file on the quik.space drop zone above.
- The drop zone detects 500 MB and surfaces a one-shot $1 payment for the matching SKU.
- Copy the share link when the upload finishes and send it to the recipient.
How long does a 500 MB upload take?
| Connection speed | Estimated upload time |
|---|---|
| 10 Mbps | 8m 44s |
| 50 Mbps | 1m 45s |
| 100 Mbps | 52s |
| 1 Gbps | 5s |
Estimates assume 80% of theoretical throughput to account for protocol overhead. Real-world times vary with Wi-Fi quality and other traffic on the line.

quik.space does not train AI on your files. We do not read them. We do not index them. The file is visible only to whoever holds the share link, and it auto-deletes when the clock runs out. WeTransfer changed its terms in July 2025 to allow AI training on user files. We made the opposite call and put it in writing.
Frequently asked
- Can I email a 500 MB file?
- No. Gmail caps attachments at 25 MB, Outlook at 20 MB, Apple Mail at around 20 MB. A 500 MB file is 20 times the largest mail attachment limit, so the only realistic route is a share link.
- Is 500 MB free on quik.space?
- No. Free is up to 100 MB per file. A single file up to 500 MB unlocks for $1 one-shot, no subscription. Pay once for the file you are sending right now.
- How long will it take to upload 500 MB on home Wi-Fi?
- On a 100 Mbps connection, about 52 seconds. On a typical 50 Mbps connection, around 1m 45s. On a slower 10 Mbps line, plan for roughly 8m 44s. Your real time depends on Wi-Fi quality and other traffic on the line.
- Will a 500 MB upload survive a flaky connection?
- Uploads stream straight to storage with progress reporting. Short hiccups are tolerated, a full disconnect is not. If your network is unstable, plug into ethernet or move closer to the router before starting.
- How long does the link stay alive?
- 72 hours by default, the same as any free upload. Paying $1 unlocks the size, it does not extend the clock. To keep the file alive for 30 more days, pay $2 to extend from the share page.
