Do I need to sign up?

How long do files last?

What is a ZIP archive?

ZIP archive files use the .zip extension and the application/zip MIME type. The format sits in the dev category. Typical files run 10 MB - 5 GB, which is well above what most email services will accept as an attachment.

Why you can’t email a ZIP archive

Email services often strip ZIP attachments as a malware risk. Even when allowed, Gmail's 25 MB cap and Outlook's 20 MB cap make any real archive impossible to attach.Slack, Discord, and most other workplace tools have similar caps, often around 1 GB for free tiers and with aggressive per-channel storage limits. Even when the file fits, it counts against the recipient’s mailbox quota forever.
