How to send an XLSX file.
Excel files grow with embedded charts and macros. They also trip corporate firewalls. quik.space stores the XLSX byte-for-byte and gives the recipient a clean link to a working file, formulas, pivots, and macros all intact.

What is a Excel XLSX?
Excel XLSX files use the .xlsx extension and the application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet MIME type. The format sits in the document category. Typical files run 20 KB - 100 MB, which is well above what most email services will accept as an attachment.
Why you can’t email a Excel XLSX
Small spreadsheets fit in email. Large ones, financial models with macros, or workbooks with embedded charts and data, can hit 50 to 100 MB. Many corporate firewalls also block XLSM and XLSX as a malware risk.Slack, Discord, and most other workplace tools have similar caps, often around 1 GB for free tiers and with aggressive per-channel storage limits. Even when the file fits, it counts against the recipient’s mailbox quota forever.
How quik.space handles Excel XLSX
quik.space stores the XLSX byte-for-byte. Formulas, pivot tables, charts, and macros (in .xlsm) all survive. The recipient opens it in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets. Where the format is browser-friendly (PDF, plain text, markdown), the share page renders an inline preview. Other documents download directly.
The file lives for 72 hours by default and then enters a 7-day grace period. We do not train AI on your files. We do not share them with third parties. After grace, the bytes are permanently purged from storage. Read the full policy on privacy.

- Share a budget spreadsheet with a team
- Hand off a research dataset workbook to a colleague
- Pass a project tracker to a client
Frequently asked
- Will my formulas and pivot tables survive?
- Yes. The XLSX is byte-identical on the other end.
- What about macros in .xlsm?
- Macros are preserved. The recipient's Excel may warn about enabling them; that is a security feature, not a file change.
- Will linked external data refresh?
- Only if the recipient has access to the same data sources. Otherwise the cached values remain.
- Can Google Sheets open the file?
- Yes. Google Sheets imports XLSX. Some complex formulas and macros may not map cleanly.
